Overlooking Lake Georgetown (HDR)

It was a beautiful day in central Texas yesterday so I had to go out and enjoy it while I could with a hike on the San Gabriel Trail at Lake Georgetown to Crockett Falls and back. I did not bring the big camera so this is shot handheld with my trusty Sony P200, manually [...]

McNay Animal Courtyard (DT HDR)

Double tone-mapped HDR of a reflective, abstract "animal" courtyard at the McNay museum in San Antonio. This is a very cool museum both inside and out (though no tripods inside, alas) – great art, beautiful courtyard inside and fantastic grounds on the outside, with places like this to be found!

Under the Bulls Eye (HDR)

The classic Driskill hotel in downtown Austin is a fabulous place to shoot HDR (and it is where Trey Ratcliff held his HDR workshop). Here is a sitting area near the entrace to the bar from the hotel, under the watchful eyes of the Bull.

Alamo Moon (HDR)

San Antonio, Texas…The Alamo. Captured the moon coming out of the clouds over the Alamo one night last year … think this is a good start for the fall!

Mountain Laurel Spring (HDR)

Have a little bit of Mountain Laurel blooms in the morning from Lost Maples SNA in Vanderpool last spring.

Triangle Christmas Tree Lights (HDR)

The Triangle in Austin is a neat loft-shopping area between Guadalupe and Lamar with many a fine restaurant. Last christmastime, though, i spent time outdoors there trying to catch some of the lights they had on display.

Down in the Falls(HDR)

Vanderpool, Lost Maples SNA. Spring trip to Lost Maples last year was very rewarding with budding trees, Mountain Laurels and running water! Tranquil waterfall near the crossroads of Lost Maples.

Lichen Limb Circle (HDR)

Lost Maples is a great place to explore, every time I go I see something different. Seasons change, trees grow and the park is just huge. Here is just an interesting lichen covered limb that I found interesting on one of my outings there.

Inside the Peninsula Lighthouse (HDR)

Peninsula Lighthouse.

Walking in the Vally of Ice (HDR)

Sonora Caverns Photoshoot in 2008. Welcome to the Valley of Ice…though there really is no ice here, just translucent white, off-white, yellow formations all around. And it is warm, and humid…! If it was ice, you’d be sliding all the way to Mount Doom! Anyway, very cool to be in a living cave.
