Austin, Texas – the elves work hard year round, especially setting up all the lights and decorations on Home Street.

Christmas is just around the corner…especially on Home Street in Austin. This shot is from last December but I do plan on going again this year to see what else I can find. If you are in Austin in December, I recommend you find this little pocket of Weird Austin lights.

Home Street in Austin, Texas is one of those cool, funky, Austin-y neighborhoods great anytime of year but especially fun during Christmas. Pretty much the entire street decorates for Christmas…and not your normal decorations – lighted motorcycles, volcanoes and tin-foil sharks have been in vogue over the years. And you can get a little Xmas shopping done too, if you are into lightsabers and glow in the dark goodies!

At Christmas, Home Street in Austin pulls out all the stops for lighting the season. And it isn’t traditional Christmas lights you’ll be seeing – here is a motorcycle all decked out and lit up from 2009.
