Hamilton Pool – Green Grotto (HDR)

Hamilton Pool is green and cool out in the hill country near Austin. Here is a fall shot from last year – not as crowded as it gets in the summer!

Cottonwood Tangle at Sunset – White Rocks (HDR)

It is winter at White Rocks in Colorado – and that presents opportunities for some interesting natural architecture. The cottonwoods are bare but their limbs intertwine in their own sculpture. East Trail Panoramic (HDR)

Lost Maples, East Trail Panoramic shot from this fall.

Whats going on?

On July 4th, we were watched intently (for dropped food) as we set up for the fireworks on town lake.

Feeding the Falls (HDR)

At the Cascades park near Blacksburg, Virginia, during a particularly rainy spring, many small falls formed that fed into the creek there. Another recommended hike if you get the chance!

Atop Crockett Falls (HDR)

Lake Georgetown. About 2 miles in on the hike along the San Gabriel trail is Crockett Falls – a spring fed area that runs down into the river. Very tranquil place and well worth the hike in.

Art at Hamilton Pool (HDR)

Went out to Hamilton Pool a week ago when the weather was just great – cool, clear and sunny. Hamilton Pool is south of Austin and a very popular summer spot due to the cool water – in the fall, though, it is very tranquil with fewer people. Here is Art, a semi-retired English professor [...]

Valley of Ice (HDR)

In the Valley Of Ice, Caverns of Sonora.

Getting the Evil Eye at the WF Center (HDR)

Got the look from this turtle at the LBJ Wildflower Center last spring when I went there with my Dad. The cool thing, at least, was he (or she) was perfectly still so was able to get a good HDR of him/her!

Lost Maples – Birdhouse (HDR)

Lost Maples has many hidden gems – both those that nature provides and man enjoys and that man provides and nature enjoys. Like this hidden birdhouse which I hope gets much use from the locals as they explore the park and enjoy the mountain laurels and other foliage.
